Howard Warner, Chairman

A technology services executive with 20 plus years of business development, operations and legal experience, Howard Warner joined Reliance Global Telecom (formerly Yipes) in October 2004. Howard played a lead role in completing a $300 million acquisition of Yipes by Reliance in December 2006. Prior to joining Reliance, Howard was the co-founder and CEO of Vado, a professional information technology resource enablement business that was acquired by Spherion. Howard also worked for Cotelligent, an IT consulting and services business where he was Vice President of Professional Services, overseeing a $200 million practice, responsible for the integration of over 25 acquired companies.

Earlier in his career, Howard spent seven years with MCI leading several organizations, including MCI’s Network Solutions organization where he was responsible for managing custom WAN management and outsourcing solutions for MCI’s largest corporate customers. Howard has a M.B.A. from UC Berkeley, a J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from UC Berkeley

William Bain

Bill Bain is currently the Owner and General Manager of TechPoint Associates, a technology consultancy with a focus on strategy and execution for high-growth companies in technology and healthcare.

Prior to that, Bill was CTO at PlanetOut, Inc. Where he was responsible all aspects of technology planning and strategy, hiring, engineering, QA, deployment, operations, and support processes and was also responsible for technology due diligence in support of the company’s merger in 2009.

Bill also held the role of CTO at HomeGain where he managed technology development and deployment for this mid-stage start-up providing on-line marketing and search services for real estate professionals. HomeGain was at the time the second-most trafficked web presence in real estate. Bill provided technology leadership, management guidance, and technology due diligence presentations contributing to successful private sale of the company.

Bill has a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. From Yale University in Computer Science and was the recipient of the Benjamin Silliman Fellowship for scientific research.

Lisa Goldman

Lisa Goldman is a Partner at Management Associates, a consulting firm that is known internationally for strategic formulation, change and integration management, executive coaching and the mobilization of high-performance teams. Lisa’s clients extend from Fortune 100 companies to high-tech start-up, such as AT&T Wireless, Apple Computer, Sprint PCS, Computer Sciences Corporation, AOL Time Warner, and E*Trade.

Lisa is a compelling leader and much-demanded performance coach serving clients in the telecommunications, e-commerce, customer service, securities trading, and computer industries. The results she produces are distinct in their ability to have people act towards a common set of objectives, produce a coordinated framework for success, and achieve unprecedented results that impact the bottom line.

Lisa is on the Board of Women In Consulting, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing top-tier consultants to businesses and raising the professional performance of members. She is also on the Board of Women In Technology: Global Executive Network, an affiliation providing senior professionals tools for achieving CEO-level positions. Lisa also leads courses at UCSC’s Management Institute of Leadership Excellence Program.

In addition to consulting for the last 16 years, she brings a total of 28 years of management experience in strategic planning, marketing, sales, and customer service operations. Prior to consulting, Lisa worked for Apple Computer, NeXT Computer, and Itel Corporation.

Lisa has a B.A. in Asian Studies from William Smith College and an M.B.A. from the University of Oregon. She is married to Howard Goldman, consultant and author of Choose What Works: The Proven Secrets of Professional Greatness.

Chris Shipley

Chris Shipley is chairman and CEO of Guidewire Group, Inc., a global analyst and advisory firm focused on early-stage technology companies. (www.guidewiregroup.com). A leading technology and product analyst for 25 years, Chris is dedicated to the success of technology entrepreneurs, focusing exclusively on identifying market opportunities and accelerating the most promising companies and products to market. As the executive producer of the renowned product launch conference DEMO from 1996 until September 2009, Chris identified and help bring to market more than 1,500 products, including WebEx, VMWare, Salesforce.com, TiVo, Xfire, Ribbit, and Ironport.

Chris has covered personal technology since 1984 and has worked as a writer and editor for a variety of technology and consumer media. She has won numerous awards for her writing and often has been cited as a leading influencer. Fortune Small Business Magazine called Chris one of ten small business thinkers worth paying attention to and the San Jose Business Journal named her a Woman of Distinction.

She is on the board and past chairman of the Forum for Women Enterpreneurs and Executives, and is an advisor to a number of early stage companies. Chris holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Literature and Communication Arts from Allegheny College, Meadville, Pa.

Kate Purmal

Kate Purmal is the co-founder of CoPilot Systems, an educational software start-up. She also serves as a board member, advisor and business coach to CEOs and entrepreneurs. In her most recent corporate role, Kate served as Senior Vice President of Digital Content at SanDisk.

An expert in launching successful new companies, Kate was co-founder and CEO of the software joint venture U3 (merged with SanDisk in 2007), co-founder of Liquid Machines (acquired by Check Point Software Technologies in 2010), and member of the founding management team at Palm, Inc (acquired by US Robotics in 1995).

Kate has consulted for dozens of start-ups and more than twenty large companies including Intuit, Hewlett-Packard, Handspring, Palm Inc., CBS, Verifone, and Clorox. She has also held senior roles in marketing, product marketing, business development, sales, and engineering at Interleaf, Grid Systems, and Computer Associates.
